2008 The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts Presidential Citation for Meritorious Service awarded to our own Phyllis Miele by Federation President, Celeste Wilson.
2005 The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts’s Mitzi Belitsky Youth Activities Award – Certificate of Merit and Silver Vase
The Club was awarded this honor for our “Gardening for Fun'' program for young gardeners at the annual Gore Place Sheepshearing Festival. The program was the brainchild of Phyllis Miele to encourage a love of gardening in young children by planting seeds. This is an annual community event continued by the Club.

2005 The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts - Certificate of Merit - Publications
The Club won first place for our garden guide used to tour the Waltham Public Library Gardens as part of the 2004 Historic Waltham Days. The guide was prepared by Alexis Shaw and Lela Chiavaras and contains garden plot plans, common and Latin names as well as descriptions for all the plants. It is listed as an artifact on the Waltham Library’s website.
2005 The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts - Certificate of Merit – Smokey Bear Woodsy Owl Poster Contest
The WGC held a city-wide poster contest as part of the National Garden Clubs program. Over 500 entries were received and evaluated. The Waltham winning entry Grade 1 entrant – Dayna Walsh won First Place at the State level.
